2016 Annual Rubber Duck Race

Duck Race

Vergennes Day is just around the corner and Vergennes Rotary is gearing up for their annual Rubber Ducky Race. It will be held during the Vergennes Day weekend on Saturday, August 27th. The ducks will be launched at the base of the Vergennes falls at 3:30 PM.

The proceeds from this annual fundraiser go toward supporting our youth. We sponsor the summer reading program "Booked for Bikes" and award 6 college scholarships each year. This is just a small part we play in investing in our youth, the community, and our future.

Tickets are $3.00 each, or 4 for $10.00. The First Place ticket holder will receive $250, Second Place receives $100, and Third Place receives $50.

We are also asking our business friends to help us support our kids’ educational dreams by sponsoring a Big Duck. The cost is only $50. The winner of this year’s Big Duck race will win a $250 donation to a charity of their choice.

If you would like to buy a ticket or sponsor a big duck just talk to one of the Vergennes Rotary members you know and they will be glad to help. You may also purchase your tickets (or sponsor a Big Duck) right here using the "Buy Now" button below.

Tickets will also be on sale around town leading up to the race and in the park until 2PM the day of the race.

Thank you in advance for your support, it’s greatly appreciated.

We want to than Tim for giving us a great presentation. He had lots of pictures from his recent trip to Alaska where he went to visit his daughter.
He gave us a little history and showed us some beautiful views of the Alaskan country side. Thanks again Tim.

We had a great time listening to Josh and were sure you will too!

August 2nd Visitor

Our speaker today was Kerry Kurt. Kerry owns and runs Sentinel Farm which is where she also runs the Unbound Grace riding academy program for youth. This program is open to all youth not just those with addiction issues or suffering for a difficult personal situation. The program is an arts, agriculture, and equestrian summer camp that gives confidence building through physical activity and helps develop problem solving skills. It is a day camp that allows youth to spend a week on a farm. being responsible for farm duties plus learning to ride a horse. Sentinel Farm also raises and sells grass-fed beef. For more information go to their website www.unboundgrace.org

in the picture above she was sharing an artists rendering of what her completed farm will look like.
